Oy Snellman Ab, a Finnish food industry group and 70-year-old family business, has been a client of Ropo since 2005. Initially, Ropo provided invoice delivery services, but the cooperation has since expanded to include receivables management services.
Snellman, which has a turnover of EUR 454 million, operates in Finland, Sweden, and Norway. To streamline its processes, Snellman decided to centralize its invoice delivery service with Ropo, discontinuing country-specific contracts. Ropo’s service was launched in Sweden in autumn 2023 and in Norway in early 2024.
Most importantly, Ropo has brought clarity to Snellman’s invoice delivery and receivables management processes.
“Previously, we were unsure if our invoices reached the customer,” said Helena Antell, Invoice to Cash Process Leader at Snellman.
“Especially in Sweden, the situation was quite confusing. Now we can quickly find invoicing data – for example, where invoices have been sent and when. We have managed to increase the e-invoicing rate, particularly in Sweden.”
Stefan Snellman, the Group’s CFO, also considers the collaboration with Ropo a success.
“We are pleased with how the process has evolved through our cooperation with Ropo, and we see further opportunities to refine our process for the benefit of the customer,” Snellman said.
Key Strengths: A single user interface and smooth customer service
The daily financial management of the Nordic company has been facilitated in particular by the Ropo One™ user interface. The platform is available in Finnish, Swedish, and Norwegian, providing transparency to financial management and allowing real-time monitoring of all figures.
“With Ropo One™, we can resend invoices if necessary, monitor the entire invoicing process and communicate easily with Ropo’s contact persons,” Antell said.
“Our customers have received their invoices, and we are immediately informed of any delivery issues. The streamlined process also ensures that sending invoice reminders is both smooth and efficient”.
In addition to efficient technology, Ropo’s customer service has consistently provided Snellman with high-quality service across several countries. Each country has its own dedicated contact person at Ropo.
“Ropo offers friendly and efficient customer service in every country. For example, the e-invoicing process in Sweden differs from that in Finland, and Ropo initially needed some clarification. However, things have always run smoothly with Ropo,” she continued.
Moving towards smarter and greener invoicing
Snellman, like many other businesses, is moving towards electronic payment reminders. Electronic reminders can significantly improve the customer experience, increase the e-invoicing rate and reduce the carbon footprint of the invoice lifecycle.
“We plan to route electronic payment reminders through the same channels as invoices, according to the customer’s preference,” said Antell.
