Ropo Capital’s sustainability strategy centers on an inspiring working environment, responsible service delivery and a climate-friendly invoice lifecycle – sustainability report 2021 has been published

At Ropo Capital, sustainability forms an integral part of the group’s strategy and values. In 2021, Ropo’s most important development in the area of sustainability was devising its group-wide sustainability strategy and its commitment to annual sustainability reporting in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. The group’s first sustainability report has now been published.

Ropo Capital’s entire business is built on trust. We serve our clients by ensuring that vital processes along the value chain of the receivables lifecycle and financial transactions are covered, from invoice delivery to sales ledger and receivables management. To safeguard that trust and secure long-term business growth, sustainability is integrated into our overall business strategy and everyday work.

During 2021, we strengthened our strategy and refined the group’s sustainability focus using a materiality assessment that included stakeholder interviews, background surveys and risk assessment.

Based on this strategy work and our sustainability principles, a sustainability strategy was developed. The focus areas of the strategy are people & an inspiring working environment, business ethics & responsible service delivery and a climate-friendly invoice lifecycle.

“Our sustainability work continues to center on our clients, their customers and the Ropo team”, said the group’s Chief Brand & Communications Officer Jenni Jantunen, who is in charge of the sustainability reporting. “The topics and prioritized aspects highlight what matters most to us and what we have the biggest impact on.”

The strategy features 12 material sustainability aspects which are divided into focus areas. Four of the aspects are prioritized as most critical: guaranteeing a legal and responsible invoice lifecycle process; maintaining data security and integrity; ensuring employee engagement; and promoting clear and transparent sustainability communication.

We also stress the importance of reducing the environmental impact of invoicing and promoting sustainable credit management. We feel that with our services we can positively influence the carbon footprint of invoicing and build up a payment culture wherein companies can sell on credit and credit is granted responsibly.

For us, 2021 and 2022 are the base years in sustainability reporting and data collection. Once standards, policies and KPIs have been harmonized across the group, we intend to finalize our long-term sustainability goals and further develop our sustainability program.
Our first sustainability report has now been published and is available on the websites ropocapital.fi, ropocapital.se and ropocapital.no. The report covers all group companies and locations in Finland, Sweden and Norway.

In the future, our sustainability report will be published alongside our financial statement.
